OMG OMG - the ride starts tomorrow and I'm just flyin' around here tryin' to get organized. LOTS of last-minute changes (to the route, etc. - please see the calendar and there are now an eastbound map and a westbound map) plus domestic issues like company coming TONIGHT to stay unexpectedly and a friend hospitalized. Sheesh - never rains but it pours!
Anyway, I'm ready to go, and will be rolling in to Olalla sometime tomorrow afternoon to hook up with Bee and Bryan. I will hope to post from there later in the evening, if Telus cooperates, of course.
Ain't we got fun!
PS:
Those of you who have ordered CC Conga shirts, please take a photo and email it to me so I can add it to the slideshow.
PPS:
Anyone who plans to ride and has not provided contact details, please email them to me for adding to our list, which will be distributed to all riders. Remember to add your cell #'s please!

Canuck Chicks Conga Calendar
Well, finally we have a (proposed) Route Calendar hammered out (see the link on the right-hand side of the blog). You can move from month to month through it and if you click on a specific date, you can view the details entered thus far.
Please keep in mind that this Calendar will be updated probably right up until the ride starts on June 13 (or maybe even beyond), as there have been (and I expect there to be) quite a few riders dropping out and others signing on, and thus details will change.
And before the start date, I'll be emailing a list of riders and their contact information to all participants. So, please, riders: if you haven't already sent your contact info to us, please do so asap at the email link on the right-hand side of the blog.
Don't forget - T-shirts for the CCC can be ordered via the link on the right-hand side of the blog ($1.00 of the price is donated by the vendor to Flo's Conga II Breast Cancer fundraiser). And please, when you get those shirts, take a pic and send it to the CCC email link on the right-hand side of the blog so we can add it to our slideshow :-)
WHOO-HOO -- gettin' soooo pumped up for this!

The Route Takes Shape!
We'll be starting the ride from this end on June 15-ish (Mon., though we may leave on the previous Sat or Sun) and head through Princeton and stay the night at Olalla, where we pick up a couple of riders, then head off through the southern route of BC to Cranbrook and thence to Lethbridge to hopefully meet up with Doris Maron (you may have heard of her - she rode solo around the world a few years ago). Finish in AB with a jaunt to Brooks for a short meet (probably) with a rider pal then on to SK to Warman/Saskatoon area to pick up another gal. Then on to MB to pick up another rider or two.
Next to Thunder Bay, Sault Ste Marie and possible Ontario stops - Windsor, Georgetown, Port Perry, Ottawa, Kitchener, Kingston, Mississauga, Hamilton, etc. -- obviously, not necesarily in that order, picking up riders in different places. Motor Maids and Chrome Divas branches have expressed interested in riding with us at different as-yet undetermined spots through ON.
Then down to the Maritimes - NB, NS, PE, and NL, don't know the order yet - we've been invited to participate in Atlanticade which is June 24-28 but that may be a bit tight timewise for us to make it. Steelettos and PEI Touring Club may join up with us at some points throughout the Maritimes too. I have committed to being in NL beginning the week of July 6 for a few days at least, so the timing of visits to the Maritime provs may be before or after the NL leg.
QC is on the list too, though the thinking at this point is probably to hit it on the way back to BC - wanna visit the Eastern Townships and hopefully, the Gaspe. That's 10, right (picture me counting on fingers LOL).
So, ladies - if you are interested in joining us on this jaunt, click on the email contact at the right and let us know, so we can add yah to the mix!

Our Very Own Logo!
I'm please to announce that, thanks to the inspired work of our own Rhonda, we have a hot new logo for our ride this summer.
T-shirts bearing the logo are available online from DAWG of WWR (Women Who Ride) 'fame': http://home.comcast.net/~tpbiker1/CanConga.htm
So order soon and order often! Remember, yah don't have to be riding with us to wear one - we welcome your support as 'spirit riders' :-) And thanks to DAWG'S generosity, $1.00 from the sale of every tee will be donated to Breast Cancer research. WAY TO GO, DAWG!

Happy New Year!
Just a quick greeting, galz, while I dash back 'n forth between my 'puter and the stove (am cooking the New Year's Even dinner right now) to let ya'll know that we'll really be getting into the Conga swing in January, so watch this space and let any riding galpalz know to do so too! We are presently designing a T-shirt and who knows what all!
Think about what local rides you might like to do on the way across and back our beautiful nation and be sure to let us know!
Again, Happy New Year!
