The Route Takes Shape!
We'll be starting the ride from this end on June 15-ish (Mon., though we may leave on the previous Sat or Sun) and head through Princeton and stay the night at Olalla, where we pick up a couple of riders, then head off through the southern route of BC to Cranbrook and thence to Lethbridge to hopefully meet up with Doris Maron (you may have heard of her - she rode solo around the world a few years ago). Finish in AB with a jaunt to Brooks for a short meet (probably) with a rider pal then on to SK to Warman/Saskatoon area to pick up another gal. Then on to MB to pick up another rider or two.
Next to Thunder Bay, Sault Ste Marie and possible Ontario stops - Windsor, Georgetown, Port Perry, Ottawa, Kitchener, Kingston, Mississauga, Hamilton, etc. -- obviously, not necesarily in that order, picking up riders in different places. Motor Maids and Chrome Divas branches have expressed interested in riding with us at different as-yet undetermined spots through ON.
Then down to the Maritimes - NB, NS, PE, and NL, don't know the order yet - we've been invited to participate in Atlanticade which is June 24-28 but that may be a bit tight timewise for us to make it. Steelettos and PEI Touring Club may join up with us at some points throughout the Maritimes too. I have committed to being in NL beginning the week of July 6 for a few days at least, so the timing of visits to the Maritime provs may be before or after the NL leg.
QC is on the list too, though the thinking at this point is probably to hit it on the way back to BC - wanna visit the Eastern Townships and hopefully, the Gaspe. That's 10, right (picture me counting on fingers LOL).

Happy New Year!
Just a quick greeting, galz, while I dash back 'n forth between my 'puter and the stove (am cooking the New Year's Even dinner right now) to let ya'll know that we'll really be getting into the Conga swing in January, so watch this space and let any riding galpalz know to do so too! We are presently designing a T-shirt and who knows what all!

We're Rockin' and a-Rollin'!
Holy smokes - Conga planning is really getting underway with a bang. Thus far, over 20 women from across Canada have responded to my posts about CCC on various forums: Women Who Ride, Vancouver Island Lady Riders, Canadian Riders and Canadian Motorcycle Roads!
A number of them are members of clubs who have volunteered to spread the word to their galpals, so by the time we hit the trail, we should have quite the contingent Conga'ing across the nation - how cool is that??? Even cooler, has been the generous response of women to volunteer to billet one or more riders along the way. What a way to show support!
Since planning is still in its' infant stage, we haven't yet determined a definite timeframe for the trip - I'm still compiling a list of those interested and their preferences and will hope to soon be able to set that timeframe as I know everyone will want to get their vacation days booked asap.
So, please keep watching here (and on the various forums) for updates. And by the way, if any of you women out there are interested in participating, please let us know:

The Ball, She is Rollin!
As of Oct 2008, the Ball is Rollin for planning the first ever Canuck Chicks Conga to take place Summer 2009. Posts have been made to Canadian gals on several women's motorcycling forums about the proposed trip and a number have indicated interest.
The impetus for this cross-Canada ride was borne out of the WWR Conga in Spring 2008 - see the Mini-History in the right-hand sidebar.
The Conga concept is sort of like a relay, but not quite. Riders meet up with each other along the way, some will join the group for long distances, perhaps all the way across, and some will ride across their Province or maybe even just across the city they live in. It is hoped that along the way, local women participants will help provide billets and also local knowledge of attractions and great rides.
